Sheriff's Office Seeks Assistance in Locating Missing Juvenile

June 20, 2014

UPDATE: In response to a tip, deputies located Jane Klopfenstein at a local residence on June 20.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of 16 year old Jane Klopfenstein of Monument. She was reported missing by her mother on June 20, 2014.

Jane apparently left her house on Bowstring Rd after an argument with her parents on June 19, 2014 at about 5:30 p.m. and has not been seen since. She is described as an African-American female, 5’06” in height and weighing approximately 145 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts with purple and black tennis shoes and a purple purse. Jane is also wearing a silver heart pendant necklace and a silver ring.

Additionally, Jane has some medical concerns that require her to take medication. In speaking with her family and friends, they say it’s unlike her to be gone for so long, even after an argument. They have been unable to contact her.  Deputies have and continue to work with friends, family and other local resources, such as hospitals and other local law enforcement agencies in an attempt to locate Jane.

A photograph of Jane is attached.

Anyone with information about Jane’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 719-390-5555.
