Sheriff's Office Asks For Help in Locating Missing Security-Widefield Woman

April 16, 2014

On April 1, 2014, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office began a missing person investigation regarding the disappearance of 52 year old Julia Netzler of the Security/Widefield area.  Julia was last seen by her husband at home at approximately 5:00 a.m. on April 1, 2014 when she got out of bed.  Her husband got out of bed an hour later to find Julia was gone.

There was nothing located at the scene which suggests Julia’s departure that morning involved “foul play”, but it’s odd she left behind her purse which contained her wallet, cell phone and other items she would normally carry.  She did not take her medication with her or pack any clothing.  Its presumed Julia left either on foot or someone gave her a ride since all family vehicles were left at the residence.

Since Julia’s disappearance, efforts by both the Sheriff’s Office and the family to locate her have not been successful.  If anyone has seen Julia or has information about her disappearance, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 390-5555.
