El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in Homicide Case
On May 28, 2014, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) began a homicide investigation after discovering a deceased adult male in Fountain Creek near Pinon Bridge in Pueblo County. The victim was identified as 20 year old Daniel Cressey. The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office later determined Cressey’s cause of death was gunshot wounds.
As the investigation moved forward, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office investigators determined the homicide occurred in El Paso County at a home in the 5000 block of Hopkins Drive in Security and contacted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office assumed the investigation on June 10, 2014.
Through the hard work already completed by PCSO and our investigative efforts which began on June 10th and extended into the early morning hours of June 11th, 19 year old Jessy Jo Jewel Barnes has been arrested for the death of Mr. Cressey.
Ms. Barnes has been booked into the Criminal Justice Center for First Degree Murder and is held without bond.
