Arrest Made in Kidnapping – Other Cases Cleared
On June 3, 2014, Kyle Davis Curley Murphy turned himself in to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on the First Degree Kidnapping arrest warrant which had been issued on June 2nd. Murphy was responsible for the kidnapping of a 19 year old female in the Falcon area on June 1st. The victim was forced into Murphy’s vehicle but jumped free and made it to safety.
During the investigation, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office developed information which tied Murphy to other criminal events from the same geographical area. As such, appropriate charging documents were completed. Those events include:
1. A report of indecent exposure from May 31, 2014 where the suspect pulled his vehicle next to an adult female who was walking along Londonderry Drive and exposed his genitals to her and then drove away. The suspect was driving a green Nissan Frontier truck.
2. A report of indecent exposure from March 24, 2014 which occurred in the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 11550 Meridian Market View in Falcon. The suspect pulled next to an adult female, opened the door to his truck and exposed he was masturbating.
Murphy remains in custody at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and is held without bond. His charges for all events consist of:
First Degree Kidnapping, a class 5 Felony
False Imprisonment, a class 5 Felony
Menacing, a class 5 Felony
Third Degree Assault, a class 1 Misdemeanor
Indecent Exposure, a Class 1 Misdemeanor (2 counts)
