Sheriff Terry Maketa

Terry Maketa is our current El Paso County Sheriff.  He has been a member of our community since 1978.  In 1987, Terry joined the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.  He was overwhelmingly elected Sheriff of El Paso County in November 2002 and re-elected in 2006.  The local community extended the state limit of two terms to three, allowing Sheriff Maketa to be elected for a 3rd term in 2010, with 82% of the votes.  Sheriff Maketa is the twenty-seventh Sheriff of El Paso County and is the first Sheriff’s Office employee to work his way up through the ranks and be elected Sheriff.

Undersheriff Paula Presley

Paula Presley is a 28 year veteran of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as the Undersheriff. She started her career as a dispatcher in Communications. She later became a deputy sheriff assigned to Patrol she was a field training officer and was promoted to sergeant in the Patrol Division where she also served as a crisis negotiator. As a sergeant she worked Patrol, Training and was responsible for the implementation of the Sheriff’s Office first P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement academy and the implementation of the D.A.R.E. Program.  After promotion to lieutenant, she served as the public information officer, comptroller, patrol and detention shift commander.

Chief Al Harmon

Al Harmon is a 30 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned as the Law Enforcement Bureau, Bureau Chief.  Chief Harmon began his career at the Sheriff’s Office in 1983, as a patrol deputy and over the past 30 years has worked in and managed divisions in both the Law Enforcement and Detention Bureaus.  Chief Harmon also supervised the multi-jurisdictional Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Division.  Chief Harmon is married and has 4 children and 2 grandchildren. He is an avid Steeler Fan and enjoys reading and fishing in his leisure time.

Commander Rob King

Rob King is a 25 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned as the Patrol Division Commander.  Commander King was promoted in January of 2008 after serving 12 years as a Lieutenant.  During Commander King’s numerous years with the Office he enjoyed many assignments in both the Detention and Law Enforcement Bureaus.  Commander King’s previous assignments include but are not limited to; Detention Security, Court Services, Inmate Classification, Intake Release, Patrol, Community Support and Admin.  Since becoming a commander, Commander King has served as the Detention Security Division Commander, Detention Operation Division Commander and in his current assignment as the...

Commander John Padgett

Commander Padgett began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2013, and is the Commander of the Emergency Services Division.  He has an extensive background in emergency services and his command experience ranges vastly from the daily emergency response to involvement in large wildland fires, the mass school shooting at Columbine High School, gasoline tanker fires, hazardous materials incidents and technical rescues.

Commander John Molatch

John Molatch is an 18.6 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office is currently assigned as the Detention Operation Commander.  He was promoted to his current rank in July 2012.  During his tenure with the office, he has been assigned to various assignments within the Detention Bureau. Commander Molatch’s assignments also include serving as Commander for both Detention Security and the Detention Operations Division.  He has served as a Training Academy Instructor, Detention Training Officer and a member of the Special Response Team.  He is currently the Commander of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team. Commander Clif Northam

Commander Clif Northam is currently assigned to the Detention Bureau, Detention Support Division. He is a thirty one year law enforcement veteran, beginning his career as a police officer in the Washington, D.C. area in 1982. Commander Northam has been employed with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office since January 1994. He has served in several areas within the Sheriff’s Office, to include; Patrol, Training Coordinator, Training Academy Instructor, Community Policing/HICOP, FTO, FTO Program Coordinator, PIO, CJC Floor Security Lieutenant and Court Services Lieutenant. He was designated a Colorado Master Field Training Officer by the County Sheriff’s of Colorado.

Commander Mitch Lincoln

Mitch Lincoln has worked for the sheriff’s office for over twenty five years. He is currently the commander of the Detention Security Division. Commander Lincoln was promoted in January 2002 and has worked all three bureaus of the office serving as Intake and Release lieutenant, watch commander, training director and comptroller.   Since his promotion to commander, Commander Lincoln has served as the sheriff’s representative on several construction projects for the sheriff’s office including the CJC minimum security tower (C.H.I.P.S.), temporary work release tent, Metro Work Release Facility and the Community Detoxification Facility. Commander Rodney Gehrett

Rodney Gehrett is an 18.5 year veteran of the El Paso County Sheriff’s.  He started his career in the Detention Bureau in June 1995, and has served in numerous capacities within the Office since that time.  His assignments have included Court Services Deputy at the El Paso County Courthouse, Shift Sergeant at the Criminal Justice Center, and Accreditation Unit Sergeant within the Professional Standards Division.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in July of 2001.  He was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2011, and is currently assigned as the Administrative Services Division Commander.  Previous assignments in the rank of Commander include the Detention Operations Division and the...

Commander Bob McDonald

Robert McDonald has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 1992 and is currently assigned as the Support Operations Division Commander.  During Commander McDonald’s tenure with the office he has had the opportunity to work in all three Bureaus of the Sheriff’s Office.  Some of Commander McDonald’s previous assignments include Detention Security, SRT, Patrol, Special Enforcement Detail, Fugitive Apprehension, Investigations, K9, SWAT, Vice Narcotics and Intelligence and Special Operations.  Since becoming a commander, Commander McDonald has served as the Emergency Services Division Commander and the Administrative Services Division Commander.

Commander John San Agustin

Commander John San Agustin's career with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office began in 1997 when he was asked to volunteer his time and expertise as a Crime Multimedia Specialist in the Staskiewicz/Carpenter homicide investigation; a very complex murder of a 15 year old girl and an adult male.  John was an electrical engineer at the time working in the private sector. John's contributions to this case led to a successful prosecution and the value of his specialized skill set in reconstructing crime scenes through multimedia was an integral part of the courtroom evidence presentation. Legal Advisor Charles Greenlee

Charles Greenlee has been the Legal Advisor, or staff attorney, to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for over nine years.  He represents the Sheriff and the Sheriff’s Office in civil matters; he cannot give legal advice to the public.  He is much like in-house counsel to a corporation.  In addition to litigation, Mr. Greenlee’s responsibilities include risk management, public records requests, government contracts, employment law, advice on county ordinances and resolutions, advice on civil process matters, and representing Sheriff’s Office interests in criminal matters.  Mr. Greenlee has been an attorney in the State of Colorado for over 17 years.

Staff Psychologist Sharon Trivette

Dr. Sharon Trivette has been the Staff Psychologist for the past four years. She is responsible for counseling employees during critical incidents as well as provides counseling for stressful life situations.  Dr. Trivette provides classroom instruction and training to the office.  Dr. Trivette has been in the mental health field since 1999.
